Fife Regatta

Wow !! Only 5 yachts entered the Fife Regatta at Dalgety Bay on 24/25 July. 2 from PEYC in Div 1 and 3 from DBSC in Div 2.
Pretty poor turnout and it seems hardly worth the club's efforts to organise a 5 race
regatta if only 5 boats enter.

If you have any views on this matter either you can post comments here.

Vacant Berths

Burntisland Sailing Club has a few non-drying fore and aft moorings available for permanent allocation.
These mooring spaces are only on offer to twin or lifting keel yachts with an overall length of up to 22 feet.
The spaces are located in the club-leased area within the harbour, adjacent to the entrance.
Winter storage facilities in the club’s secure compound may also be available.
Provision and maintenance of all mooring tackle is the responsibility of occupiers.
Enquires and applications should be addressed to the Secretary at 01592 873375 or burntisland@rya-online.net

Forth Offshore Group

After 10 years on the shelf the Forth Offshore Group has been resurrected for 2010. At the time of writing this post 2 of the scheduled 4 events had been held. The Bass Rock Weekend was on the 1/2 May in pretty miserable conditions and the turnout was not good. The results have not yet been published by the host club FCYC.
On Friday 28 May the Convoy Cup race to Eyemouth took off at 7.30PM from Port Edgar but only 2 boats entered and the results can be seen on the FYCA web page.
So overall it has been a rather inauspicious start for the Forth Offshore Group 2010 and let's hope the the picture improves for the final 2 events in the Series which take place at the Anstruther Weekend on 31 July.

Well, I'm not really a blogger but I believe this can be a useful tool for FYCA. Hopefully the executive can be more open to the membership and, at the same time, members will pass ideas and opinions easily.
ECSW is probably dominating our minds just now and I would ask that those intending to visit enter early. It's quite scary organising an event of this scale without evidence of interest!
Thanks to all who are grafting to make ECSW a success.
Pilot Hanbook will soon be with us again. Hopefully early autumn.
Have a good season.
